The Restrainer Part II

The issue is I continue to read different people write/say that the restrainer is the Holy Spirit. Besides the fact that the Holy Spirit was and has never been asked to protect people, Jesus said in John 16:8 “And He, When He comes, will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgment.”
My purpose in writing about the restrainer today is to expand a little on the restrainer and why it cannot be the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit came to convict the world of sin not to protect them from it or from doing it. If that was possible there might be someone out there that was perfect as Jesus was. Pre-Trib’s believe that the Holy Spirit will rise with the resurrection of the people at the beginning of Daniel’s 70th Week. The Holy Spirit is the one who convicts you, who stirs your heart, who brings you towards Christ. You do not have to listen, in fact many people ignore it. The Pre-Trib’s take is once the Holy Spirit is removed it is easier for the anti-christ to do his thing. With the church today I would argue it is easy to to do his thing, but that is a different subject.
Let’s think about something. Pre-Trib’s believe the Holy Spirit will rise at the resurrection and that his presence is not in the world anymore. If this is the case, then how can an untold number become believers during the 70th Week as many Pre-Trib’s believe? One of many issues the Pre-Trib theory has. Remember it is the Holy Spirit that convicts you and shows you that you need Jesus. If it is removed, then how do you know you need Jesus? Who is going to convert to Him now? The fact is if the Holy Spirit is no longer in the world then there will be no conversions faith. I do not believe their will be an untold number accepting Christ during the 70th Week unless you count the Jews. The great apostasy is going to be occurring and all those that supposedly had accepted Christ will be falling away. The restrainer is 2 Thes 2 is Michael as previously blogged.
